A burning pain
or discomfort felt in the region of the heart
and often rising upwards to the throat. The
cause lies in the stomach and oesophagus
(gullet) and the burning sensation is usually
due to the stomach throwing up its contents
along with the acids. It may also be caused by
inflammation of the oesophagus or due to ulcers.
It is advisable to avoid overeating and spicy
food, fruits high in acid content, alcohol and
coffee/tea. |
